可持续发展委员会

循环经济委员会最近改组为可持续发展委员会（以下简称“委员会”），主要基于两（2）个重要考虑因素，即：

a) 阿拉伯联合酋长国（阿联酋）总统谢赫·穆罕默德·本·扎耶德·阿勒纳哈扬殿下于2023年1月宣布2023年为“可持续发展年”。“可持续发展年”旨在向阿联酋开国元勋谢赫·扎耶德·本·苏尔坦·阿勒纳哈扬殿下的遗产致敬。“可持续发展年”还将涉及源于根深蒂固的可持续发展价值观的各种倡议、活动和事件。

b) 阿联酋将于2023年11月30日至2023年12月12日举办联合国气候变化框架公约缔约方大会第二十八届会议（COP 28）。

3. The Committee will strive to achieve the following strategic objectives:

a) Lead the CEO Clubs Network’s approach to sustainability and provide strategic guidance to the Management of the CEO Clubs Network on sustainability;
b) Raise awareness and instill a better understanding of sustainability among members and/or partners/sponsors of the CEO Clubs Network;
c) Facilitate the dissemination of relevant and timely knowledge on sustainability and/or cultivate unique and meaningful opportunities to engage in sustainability projects, programs, and initiatives;
d) Organize tailored events and/or forums on sustainability for the benefit of members and/or partners/sponsors;
e) Stay abreast of regional and international best practices, emerging trends, and prevailing risks related to sustainability;
f) Develop an annual sustainability program and effectively communicate its aspirations and components;
g) Monitor and report on the sustainability approach and annual program;
h) Carry out other activities and programs consistent with the objectives, aims, and policies of the CEO Clubs Network.

4. The Sustainability Committee will be comprised of 10 members, led by Sarah Dong (Chairperson) with support from Rachel A. Aron (Lead Coordinator).

5. The Committee will organize meetings quarterly. In emergencies, meetings may be held as needed.

6. Members may attend meetings physically or virtually. The secretariat will provide at least 7 days’ notice including date, time, location, agenda, and supporting documentation.

7. Members must attend meetings to ensure smooth functioning. Failure to attend 50% of meetings over 3 years without satisfactory explanation will be referred for action.

8. Committee performance will be reviewed annually by a task force designated by management. Recommendations require majority approval of members.
